This property is presented by Van Poole Properties Group.
I learned a few things doing this one:
- I thought I’d get fancy and add 3d scans of the outside of the property around sunset. Not worth it. To make sure they’re linked to the tour, you have to do a lot of extra scans that don’t add much. It’s better to do a couple of 360 views and attach them to the tour in post. 360 views do look better at sunset with all the lights on though.
- Don’t skimp on overlap. Sometimes the app will say something like “not enough overlap”, but it will still go ahead and do its thing. It’s better to go ahead and do extra coverage and delete tour points in post if necessary. This prevents some of the weird, disjointed transitions you get when you don’t do enough scans.
- Clean up and trim everything before uploading, and don’t forget to clean up each floor. The initial upload for this property took about three hours, and then processing took eight hours. Because I was fiddling with the outdoor scans, I had to clean all that up and then reupload. Reupload is really fast, but it still took eight hours to process. Then I missed cleaning up the 2nd floor, so I had to trim that and reupload again, and wait another eight hours for processing.
